Getting started

Boondocks is a reference and annotation site for The Boondocks (animated series). Each annotation explains a reference — a historical figure, political event, cultural touchstone, piece of music, callback, or satirical target — with original commentary and a verifiable citation.

The site is free and public. You do not need an account, a login, or a subscription to read any annotation. Simply browse to an episode page and click any annotated line to see the commentary and its source.

The episode library currently covers a subset of the series. If you cannot find your favourite episode yet, that is why.

Frequently asked questions

Is this site affiliated with the creators of The Boondocks?

No. Boondocks is an independent fan reference project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the creators, producers, or rights holders of The Boondocks. All quoted lines are short excerpts used for commentary and critique. No full scripts or episodes are hosted here.

How are the annotations researched?

Every annotation is researched using reliable, citable sources: encyclopedic references, news archives, academic and journalistic writing, and official material. Wikis and fan sites are used as leads only — every claim is corroborated with a citable primary or secondary source. No citation means no publish. Annotations that cannot be properly sourced are dropped rather than published without evidence.

Can I suggest a correction or contribute an annotation?

Not yet. The site does not currently support user accounts, contributions, or community annotations. All annotations are produced by the editorial pipeline.

Will there be a mobile app?

There are no plans for a mobile app. The site is designed to be responsive and readable on any device through a web browser — mobile, tablet, or desktop.

Is there a search feature?

Search is not yet implemented. Without a search feature, browsing is limited to direct episode links.

Known limitations

Here is what the site does not currently offer:

• Episode library is incomplete. The library covers a subset of the series. Additional episodes are not scheduled for production.
• No user accounts. You cannot save favourites, track progress, or submit annotations. The site is read-only.
• No search or index. Without a search feature, browsing is limited to direct episode links.
• No mobile app. The site is responsive but there is no native application for any platform.
• No payment infrastructure. The site is free. There are no paid offerings.
• No email support. There is no support mailbox configured yet. See "Contact us" below for the current best way to reach the operator.
• Static-only. The site is served as static HTML. Features that require a server (user accounts, real-time updates, dynamic search) are not available.
